The adidas Rivalry Low "Mom's Ugly Couch" was developed in collaboration with Unheardof, where founder Phil Lipschutz looked to his formative years for inspiration. Floral patterns, similar to the design of Phil's mother's sofa, adorn the powder blue corduroy top. Dark tan leather overlays reinforce the toe box and heel, while Red leather accents appear on the signature Three Stripes and heel counter. The back heel is embossed with the words "Always Be a Good Boy," a message Phil's grandmother included in her cards and letters, while the insole features one of Grandma's watercolor paintings. The sneakers rest on a gum rubber outsole with a foam wedge on the medial side.
