Description
During the 1989-1990 NBA season, Michael Jordan produced performance that set him apart from the rest of the league. Comparing his ruthless style to American fighter jets during World War II, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield applied a shark tooth graphic to the Air Jordan 5 sneaker. First released in 1990, the "Fire Red" model is one of four OG colorways. The Air Jordan 5 gained further recognition with the original "It's Gotta Be The Shoes," a Nike campaign that featured Mars Blackmon, Spike Lee's character from the 1986 film She's Gotta Need It.
