The Nike Air Jordan 9 Retro Johnny Kilroy was the first colorway released from the 2012 Alter Egos pack. The sneakers are based on the Air Jordan 9 commercial released during the 1994-95 NBA season, the year Michael Jordan first retired. The upper of the sneaker is made of black textile, the side panel and heel are made of gray leather. Released in October 2012, the shoe replaces the traditional Air Jordan branding on the tongue with the Johnny Kilroy name and replaces Jordan's jersey number #23 with #4 on the heel. The Jordan Alter Egos Pack also includes Fontay Montana, Bentley Ellis, Slim Jenkins, Motorboat Jones and Calvin Bailey.
