Inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals, Nike released a colorway that celebrates Kobe Bryant's resilience. The Kobe 3 GS 'Prelude' features a synthetic waffle upper with an all-over fiery galaxy print, as well as leather accents on the heel and toe. The sneaker also features purple detailing on the midsole lining and eyelets, as well as multi-color Swoosh branding on the heel.
